Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been absent around these parts. It feels like an eternity since I posted on here or social media. I’ve been neglecting it of late. What with lockdowns, school holidays, trying to run a small business as well as dealing with chronic illness, my priorities and motivation have ran out the door.
Truthfully my plan was never to be away this long from posting. For months I’ve been trying to figure out how to make my return. But I could never figure out who to come back without it being weird. So I kept putting it of and off.
Finally, after seeing a post online about how to get back into posting and seeing that most people who take a blogging break don’t come back. I decided I didn’t want to give up completely. I miss the whole blogging process so here I am back again with a long overdue life update.
The last 10 Months
I don’t want to sugar coat it and say that the last 10 or so months have been filled with unicorns and rainbows. It’s been tough. It feels like I’ve had zero respite from my fibromyalgia symptoms, if it’s not one thing it’s another (that’s probably why I’ve not felt motivated to write). Nothing helps, but I’ve been apprehensive to get a doctors appointment to discuss options because of covid and my fear of being fobbed off.
There have been positives though. Our son Alex started Primary 1 in August after deferring the start of primary school for a year. Which I can honestly say was the best decision for him. I think that if we had started him when he was 4 and a half he wouldn’t have been as settled as he is now. He seems to really love it, especially because his 3 best friends are in his class also.
He comes running out at the end of the day with a big smile, and has surprisingly taken to have school lunches.
Back in May myself and some mum friends went to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 at a drive in movie screening at Hopetoun house. Going to a drive in movie was something that I had wanted to do for a long time. From what I remember (there was some special cookies) it was a great little day out. The house made a really nice back drop, there was yummy food and lots of laughs and Harry Potter snacks.
Back in January 2020 I start my own Avon business. I know some people have negative beliefs about Avon and that you’re truly being your own boss. For me though I’m not a representative that wants to build a huge customer base or become a leader, don’t get me wrong a large customer base would be fantastic but it’s a lot of hard work and a lot of pounding the pavement which I don’t have the energy for. So for me and for now I’m happy to have a customer base made up of friends and family.
Hopefully I can get into a good balance of blogging, running my Avon business and everyday life to have a posting schedule. I guess time will tell.
I have a few post ideas floating about so please keep your eyes peeled for those. Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog to never miss any upcoming posts.
