Chronic pain caused by conditions such as Fibromyalgia very rarely reacts to pain medication. I know from my own experience and from talking to others who suffer from chronic pain, they don’t feel any relief from over the counter or prescribed painkillers. I’ve been looking into alternative methods that might help with some relief or allow me to cope with the pain.
A friend tagged me on a Facebook post for CBD oil patches. I look into the ones I was tagged in. They looked promising, however, they were from an American company. I wasn’t sure about shipping costs etc. I looked on Amazon to see if I could find a similar product.
As I searched, I found Hemp Patches sold by Global Product. They claim to be fast acting, providing relief for arthritis and fibromyalgia by reducing joint pain and stiffness. They are a completely natural product, are suitable for men and women. The reviews for the patches seemed promising, a lot of the feedback was from people like myself who suffered from chronic pain. I placed the order which was £19.99 with free shipping. The order arrived within a few days which was quicker than I expected.
The instructions that came with the patches explains that the patches are to be placed on the arm, stomach, back, thighs or other problem areas. Each patch lasts 24 hours and have to be applied in a new area every day.
Eager to try them out, I began using them straight away. The first day I used the patches, there was no noticeable difference to my pain. This could be due to the fact that I had a bad headache that day. I placed the patch on my thigh which I feel may have been a bad position to place it as, the patch didn’t seem to stay on my skin for more than 8 hours.
The next day I tried placing the patch on my shoulder. After a few hours I felt that some slight irritation around the patch. I didn’t think anything of it as it was on my shoulder blade and I’d be moving a lot that day. Again there was no noticeable difference to my pain.
Sadly after three days of trying out the patches I had to stop using them. On the third day my skin was feeling irritated by what I suspect was the adhesive. When I removed the patch the skin looked a little swollen and red. Again their was no difference to my pain. Maybe hemp patches aren’t for me. That doesn’t mean that they aren’t suitable for anyone else. The reviews say otherwise
I am going to continue to try alternative methods of pain relief. If anyone has any suggestions of what I should try please let me know in the comments.
