12 Days Of Blogmas – Day 2 – Worthy Charities

Tis the season for giving, and what better way to give at christmas than to give to charity. There are countless numbers of charities that are desperate for money to help feeding famine, provide clean drinking water, cure disease and illness, help care for the elderly and homeless and protect animals and children.  That is only several examples of charities that are important, however I want to talk to you about the charities to me that are worthy and if I could I would give to them greatly if I could.

Strathcarron Hospice

Technically this isn’t a charity but is somewhere that means a lot to me and family members. They rely on fundraising and donations.

Strathcarron Hospice

The hospice gives free palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses in central Scotland. It provides much needed rest bite for those that care for ill family members and has been the place where a number of loved ones spend their final days.

The staff are incredible with both the patients and the families which is really important during a patients stay and afterwards

PDSA – Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals

PDSA is another organisation that is dear to me. As a dogs human I believe that all pets deserve to receive vet treatment when needed to cure illness or treat injuries from accidents. But this isn’t always possible especially in the economy we are living in at the moment. PDSA are the leading vet charity that are there to help those who have a sick or injured pet but cannot afford to pay expensive vet bills. They offer reduced rate or sometimes free treatments.

PDSASince the charity was started in the 1970s they have helped provide healthcare and advice to 20 million pets. That is incredible! I give to the charity whenever I can, because you never know what might happen round the corner with animals and our own financial situation.

What charities do feel are worthy of donations?

Please remember to check out the others who are taking part in #12daysblogmas by using the hashtag on social media.  If you missed yesterdays post you can read it here.
